Happy Anniversary Baby....Got You on My Mind....

Well, it's about time I posted something here at my lonely little blog. Today is my wedding anniversary, and so I decided after my darling husband presented me with a lovely card this morning I had better get crackin' and get one made for him. I couldn't help myself when I opened up my Sweethearts Cricut Cartridge and saw this adorable frog prince. I mean, how can you resist the character in this little fellow. I HAD to put him on a card. So...here is my anniversary sentiment for my man.

Really, I follow him around the house all the time exclaiming this anyway...so why not make it into a card? Teeheehee...

And just because I am so in love with my sweet little grandbaby...here's a new picture of her to share. Could a baby be any sweeter or more adorable. I submit there could NOT be. *sigh.....

Happy Saturday everyone!!

Design Team Blog Hop-Hearts and Angels

Happy Wednesday everyone and welcome to the Hearts and Angels Blog Hop!  We would like to thank our wonderful sponsor, My Heart Stamps For You for the rubber stamps provided for us to work with.  Our theme is all about using hearts and/or angels.  As you hop from blog to blog keep in mind what you would make along this theme and when you are done checking out what the design team has to offer, come back here to submit your creation for a chance at a wonderful free prize of rubber stamps from our sponsor.  Please remember, although we are using rubber stamps in our creations, you are welcome to use anything you would like....just follow the theme, and add it at the bottom of this post.

For my submission I created this little book using my Zutter Book Binder.  I used Copic markers to color my image and then added glitter from the ART Institute Glittering System.  I plan on giving the book to my daughter-in-law to add pictures or journaling memories with my new grand-daughter, Brinnsen.  Please view my video to see how I put it all together!

You might find some fun giveaways along the hop..so be sure to read them through and follow the instructions.  And please, please join us in our challenge here....there will be really fun prizes!!

I am pleased to give you the line up for our fun little hop today.
1.  Me
2.  Beth
3.  Madison
4.  Gaby
5.  Anne
6.  Mariam

So without further ado...hop on over to Beth and see what she has to offer for you!

Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About......

....what else?  Copic markers of course!  As if!  I thought it might be informative to throw together a little video on the different types of markers available and their uses.  I have had a few people ask me what the differences were and which ones were best for what..etc...so hopefully this will give you a little bit more info to make your own choices.

I want to invite everyone to go check out my stamp store!  Shelley Bean Stamps is my very own line of rubber stamps. They come unmounted on nice, thick red rubber and I include static cling mounting foam so you can use them with your acrylic blocks.  Right now, I am able to offer free shipping to anywhere in the United States.  Here are a couple examples of my designs now available.

I intend to create some more stamp designs in the future once these take off a little more.  I am really looking forward to seeing what others will create using them.  So....right now....I am on a hunt for a few bloggers that would like to showcase my stamps on their blogs.  Take a look at the stamps and if they interest you or you would like to try your hand at creating something with them, drop me a line at shelleybeanstamps@gmail.com with a link to your blog and at least 2 examples of your experience with rubberstamps.  I will be sending the bloggers I choose a few free stamps to work with for their efforts.  I hope to hear from you soon!!

Happy Saturday...and another Tutorial!

Good Morning everyone.  Here is part 2 of the video I presented to you last evening.  In this one I tackle the obstacle of coloring black hair.  Black is one of the trickier colors to color with.  It can be very difficult to make the colors look rich and vibrant without them coming out too gray.  I am somewhat pleased with my results, but like anything....I still need to practise a lot more before it's perfected.

I will have another video tutorial for you tomorrow as well!  I have been busy trying to get my blog back and rolling again.  I don't want you to forget about me here.  That video will be a basic informational video on the different Copic markers available, what they are used for and what you can do with them.  I have had the question asked to me many times: "which ones should I buy?" and maybe this video will answer some of those questions.  So please check back!  I would love to make some more Copics videos for you, so drop me a note and let me know what you want to see!

Another Copics Tutorial!

Good evening everyone!  Yes, I am still alive....I hope you haven't all lost interest in my blog despite my absence around here.  But, tonight I decided to fulfill a viewers request and make a video to share.  Tomorrow, pop back in because I will also post another video.  Yes, you read that right!  Two posts!  But, that's not all I have up my sleeve, because I intend to get a few more ready for you in the upcoming days.

I also wanted to remind everyone that next Wednesday, the Design Team will be back to share another fun-filled blog hop.  We love hopping around blogs over here at Heartstring!  Our theme this time around will be "Hearts and Angels".  Start planning what you would like to submit in our Hearts and Angels Challenge, because there will be a prize!  Come back Wednesday, the 11th, to see what we have in store.  I did want to mention now, so as to divert any confusion....you DO NOT have to use rubber stamps to enter our challenges.  As long as you follow the theme, you have met the requirement.  So, whatever your favorite craft medium to use...it's all good with us!  We just LOVE to see what everyone comes up with!  Oh, and a little sneak peek....there will be more than 1 giveaway in the blog hop too! Yay!

And now, for my reader request.  I have had a few people mention they would love to see a Copics tutorial on coloring darker skin tones.  I honestly have little to no experience with this, but decided it was worth some practise to see what I could come up with.  So, here is my take on that pursuit!  As always, please leave me your comments and requests.  I love to keep those ideas coming in.
