Something Altered!

It's time again for another fun challenge over at Scrapalicious Usa.  You should check it out and join in.  It's going to be a lot of fun.  Just make something that isn't a card or a scrapbook page.  Something that you alter creatively to make it something else and fun.  Here is my story:  I was at a garage sale and found 3 small chipboard boxes in graduated sizes.  Someone had taken craft paints and turned them all folksy and tole painted.  I didn't really like what they had done with them...it looked like one of my old craft projects from the 90's gone awry...but I had to buy them because I knew eventually I would think of something.  So today...here is what I did with one of them.

Remember back in December when I shared the ornament I made over using an old book I bought at the Good Will?  The Complete Works of Shakespeare?  If you want to read about it, you can look over here.  Anyway, today Julius Caesar has made his debut on my round box.  Using the same technique of tearing the pages into small pieces of paper and applying them in layers to the box I covered it.  Then I added a lot of different Tim Holtz distress inks and Bo Bunny stickers and chipboard stickers to embellish.  I also added a pretty little dragonfly and bee to the top...just because.  Pretty easy, I made it in one short evening.  And now I have fun little trinket box.  Come and join us in the challenge!!  There will be a gift certificate to Scrapalicious USA given away!!

Mother, I Love You

Happy Wednesday and it's time for another challenge over at Scrapalicious USA.  This time our theme is Mother's Day.  We hope you will want to join in all the fun.  Of course a wonderful gift card from Scrapalicious USA is the prize.  Don't forget, currently you can use Clearance20% to get an additional 20% off the already low prices.  That includes Copic Markers!  I recently made a healthy purchase of them at the store and they come out to $4.20 each!  That is pretty good!  We all know Copics are a wonderful investment because you can use them forever since they are refillable (Scrapalicious also sells refills on many of the colors) but honestly they are quite a financial investment with a retail price of 6.99 each.  Whew!  As you can see, with that promotional discount plus the already low price...it's a cool deal!

Anyhow, here is the card I made to share for this challenge.  All products used are available at Scrapalicious USA.  I will include links so you can check them out yourself.
Before I forget...I have a very special request.  Scrapalicious is looking for new friends to sign up for their free newsletter.  Here is the LINK.  If you sign up...please put my name "Shelley" in the comment field.  If I can get enough friends to join...I might win a Grand Calibur.  I would really love a chance at this!  If you'd like a chance at one too...why not hop on over and Like our Facebook Page.  We are giving one away when we reach 1000 followers!  It's win, win!!  (you might say hello at the page too!)
